During a special reception on the evening of Friday, February 1, St. Mary’s College of Maryland Board of Trustees named Hal Edwin “Ed” Cole Sr. (posthumously) and Loretta “Tiny” Taylor to The Order of the Ark and Dove.

Comedian Roy Wood Jr. to present 13th Annual Twain Lecture at St. Mary’s College of Maryland

An Evening with Roy Wood Jr. takes place on Friday, April 12, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Michael P. O’Brien Athletic and Recreation Center, 19050 Hill Commons Drive. Wood is the 13th lecturer for the Annual Twain Lecture Series on American Humor and Culture. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission and $5 for Arts Alliance members.

Completion Date and Dedication Celebration Announced for Jamie L. Roberts Stadium

Vice President for Business and Chief Financial Officer Paul Pusecker gave the St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Board of Trustees an update on the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium project at the regularly scheduled meeting on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Andrew Cognard-Black Elected to the National Collegiate Honors Council Board of Directors

Andrew Cognard-Black of the St. Mary’s College department of sociology recently was elected by the National Collegiate Honors Council membership to serve on the Board of Directors. Selected from a slate of 10 nominees, he will fill one of three vacant seats on the Council’s Board beginning this month.

A Ten-Minute Play Festival Featuring Student-Written Performance Pieces at St. Mary’s College of Maryland

“Humanizing Histories: 7 Short Plays about Resistance,” a festival of 10-minute student-written performance pieces, opens on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. and runs through Sunday, Feb. 24 in the Bruce Davis Theater, Montgomery Hall, on the St. Mary’s College of Maryland campus. Ticket prices are $4 for teachers, students, senior citizens, and Arts Alliance members; $6, general admission.
