Each year, the top performing sailors in the United States are shortlisted for US Sailing’s annual Rolex Yachtsman and Yachtswoman of the Year awards. This year, St. Mary’s College of Maryland Alumnus Willem van Waay '97 has been named a finalist for the 2019 Rolex Yachtsman of the Year.

Michael Cain, professor of political science, has been working USAID’s Power Africa program in Uganda. Power Africa is a U.S. government-led partnership coordinated by USAID.

Adam Malisch, research administrator in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, earned his professional accreditation in December. Only 38% of U.S. research administrators have such a professional accreditation, Certified Research Administrator. 

Scott Devine, director of athletics and recreation, will retire at the end of the 2020 school year. President of St. Mary’s College of Maryland Tuajuanda C. Jordan made the announcement.
