Cassie Gurbisz, assistant professor of environmental studies, was quoted in the most recent issue of the Chesapeake Bay Journal in an article discussing the effects of unusually prolonged flooding on the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem.

Assistant Professor of Biology Jessica Malisch and Members of Her Lab Presented Their Research at the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology Annual Meeting
Assistant Professor of Biology Jessica Malisch and students from her lab presented their research at the Annual Meeting for the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) in Tampa, Florida, Jan. 3-7, 2019. The mission of SICB is to further research, educate and create public awareness in the areas of organismal, functional and evolutionary biology. Research in Malisch's lab focuses on the vertebrate stress response with an emphasis on hormones and metabolism in free-living sparrows.
Tri-County All-Community Collaborative (TRACC) Strives to Dismantle Racism with Series of Events
The newly created Tri-County All-Community Collaborative (TRACC) will embark on a six-month-long initiative to promote unity via conversations and events within St. Mary’s County. There are a series of events scheduled for January designed to help dismantle racism and privilege in Southern Maryland.
