St. Mary’s College of Maryland Welcomes Students Back to Campus

St. Mary’s College of Maryland welcomed students back to campus this week, marked by the arrival of first-year students on Thursday, Aug. 25 and the first day of classes on Monday, Aug. 29. The incoming first-year class of 416 is the largest at the College in 10 years.

Director of Athletics & Recreation Crystal Gibson Joins NADIIIAA Board

Director of Athletics & Recreation Crystal Gibson has been selected to join the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) Board of Directors as announced by the organization on Thursday, Aug.

18.Gibson, along with Dana Harmon, director of physical education, recreation & athletics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and Matt Tanney, director of athletics at Wabash College, were voted on by the membership in the summer to begin at-large member tenures on the Board of Directors.

Interim Provost Gantz Facilitates COPLAC Summer Institute

Interim Provost Katie Gantz served as a senior administrator co-facilitator at the 2022 Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC) Beard Leadership Circle at Sonoma State University in California. The focus of the three-day BLC summer institute was support for early- to mid-career department chairs/program directors from COPLAC member institutions. Approximately 40 participants met to address common challenges, develop professional networks, share resources and build decision-making strategies.
