The $20 million campaign will provide critical funds to invest in initiatives that align with emerging trends to ensure student success in a dynamic world.

The award-winning River Concert Series, having brought the Southern Maryland community together through music for an incredible 25 years, is back for another season. Starting June 23, a captivating selection of five free concerts will serenade you every Friday evening, painting a musical mosaic in the open air.

Bay to Bay Service Days Kicked Off with Four Local Projects

Alumni, students and community members got their hands dirty on Sunday, April 2, in the name of the St. Mary’s Way, as the College’s Alumni Association kicked off its annual Bay to Bay Service Days.

Since 2017, supporters across the country have volunteered to give back to their local communities during the month of April - National Volunteer Month.  SMCM alumni in states stretching across the country use this month to organize projects or collaborate with local groups in their communities.

President Jordan Visits Bryn Mawr College for Advancing Inclusive Excellence Series

St. Mary’s College of Maryland President Tuajuanda C. Jordan, PhD, visited Bryn Mawr College Thursday, March 23, for the launch of its new Advancing Inclusive Excellence series. President Jordan will be joined by President Emeritus of the University of Maryland, Freeman Hrabowski, PhD. 

The two leaders in transforming STEM education and student success spoke on personal experience, something Bryn Mawr students responded with when asked what they were looking to get out of the new series.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland President Tuajuanda C. Jordan has carried the College’s core values with her as a member of the executive committee for the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC), to which she was recently named president-elect earlier this summer.

“I am honored for the opportunity to serve as president-elect of COPLAC,” said President Jordan. “As the National Public Honors College, St. Mary’s College epitomizes what COPLAC represents, and I will champion our values as I, along with the rest of the executive board, guide our member institutions.”

The Commemorative to Enslaved Peoples of Southern Maryland Earns National Awards

The Commemorative to Enslaved Peoples of Southern Maryland has earned two national awards in 2022. 

The immersive art experience, constructed on St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s campus, honors the story of resilience, persistence, and creative problem-solving that defined the lives of the enslaved individuals that lived in St. Mary’s City between 1750 and 1815.
