On Saturday, Oct. 13, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the Archaeological Society of Delaware, will present “Queenstown and the Early Colonial Delmarva: An Archaeological and Historical Symposium.”

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, visited St. Mary’s College and connected with students, faculty, and staff. The purpose of the visit was to initiate a partnership with the College to provide cultural exchange, including student internships and other opportunities for collaboration. During the visit, the Governor General gave a presentation on Antigua, Barbuda, the Government House Restoration Initiative, and charitable work led by his wife, Lady Sandra Williams, also in attendance.

Professor of Art Sue Johnson will hold an exhibition titled “Ready-Made Dream,” Oct. 25 – Dec. 2, 2018, at the Ridderhof Martin Gallery, University of Mary Washington. The Opening Reception takes place on Oct. 25 from 5-7 p.m. and the Artist Talk on Oct. 26 at Noon.

The Faculty Exhibition: Finding Elsewhere is an exhibition of the bravery and faith of studio practices that unhinge notions of reality, that question one’s senses and physicality, and unveil illusions of truth and time. Held until November 10, the exhibition is curated by St. Mary’s College alumna Kate Pollasch ’10.

Professor of Music David Froom's latest composition, "Hidden Motives," has just been published by American Composers Edition. He has been invited to speak about his new work at the University of Maryland, College Park on Oct. 11. The premiere performance of this work will take place on Saturday, Oct. 20, 5 p.m. at the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM). His work was commissioned for the 21st Century Consort (SAAM's New-Music Group-in-Residence) to connect to an exhibition at SAAM of work by Trevor Paglan (a connection that inspired the title "Hidden Motives").
