Professors Barry Muchnick and Carrie Patterson Launch Exhibit of the Tiny House at Patuxent River Naval Air Museum

On January 12, 2019, the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum (PRNAM) will partner with The Tiny House Project at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and Grammy Award winning jazz musicians from The Spirit of Jazz & Democracy to host a special event and launch a new temporary exhibit highlighting the role of improvisation in technology, engineering, and democracy.

This unique opening event is called “The Spirit of Innovation and Freedom.” The evening starts at 5:30 p.m. with refreshments from Enso Kitchen and a preview of a new temporary exhibit about The Tiny House Project.

Cassie Gurbisz, assistant professor of environmental studies, was quoted in the most recent issue of the Chesapeake Bay Journal in an article discussing the effects of unusually prolonged flooding on the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem.

Assistant Professor of Biology Jessica Malisch and Members of Her Lab Presented Their Research at the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology Annual Meeting

Assistant Professor of Biology Jessica Malisch and students from her lab presented their research at the Annual Meeting for the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) in Tampa, Florida, Jan. 3-7, 2019. The mission of SICB is to further research, educate and create public awareness in the areas of organismal, functional and evolutionary biology. Research in Malisch's lab focuses on the vertebrate stress response with an emphasis on hormones and metabolism in free-living sparrows.
