St. Mary’s College Mobilizes Departments to Assist Local Health Care Providers with Essential Supplies/3D Printed Face Shields

Associate Professor of Biology Kevin Emerson has jump-started a campus-wide initiative at St. Mary’s College of Maryland to provide the St. Mary’s County Health Department with essential supplies for medical personnel working the front lines to care for those infected with COVID-19 and to help stem the spread of the disease.

Associate Professor Gijanto and Professor Larsen Awarded Three-year NSF Grant to Fund Student Research Experiences

Liza Gijanto, associate professor of anthropology, and Randy Larsen, professor of chemistry, were recently awarded an NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) grant focused on archaeological investigations of colonial Maryland. The $368,278 grant will fund a multi-year research program for numerous students from across the U.S.

Professor Başaran Receives Three-month Fulbright Global Scholar Research Award

Professor of Religious Studies Betül Başaran has won a three-month Fulbright Global Scholar Research award for the Spring 2021 Semester to conduct critically important archival research in England and India for her book project on the legacy and impact of Princesses Niloufer (1916-1989) and Durrushehvar (1914-2006).
