This year, the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) is hosting a virtual annual conference and St. Mary’s College is participating at many levels.  Professor of Anthropology Bill Roberts serves on the 2021 Program Committee and took the lead on organizing three sessions involving SMCM faculty, students, and alumni.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland has partnered with Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, to offer an engineering dual degree program.  The program, considered one of the country’s premier engineering programs, is now in its 48th year at Washington University.

Adjunct Professor of Environmental Studies Laura B. Schneider has published an article in the journal Science & Children with Kayce Wills, a staff member at Duke Elementary in Leonardtown, Maryland. The article is titled “Why Are There Coral in the Cliffs?: Engaging third graders in a historical science phenomenon.”
