Professor Mertz Leads Virtual BioMolViz Workshops
Professor of Biochemistry Pamela Mertz helped lead a series of virtual multi-day workshops in May and June for BioMolViz, an NSF-funded project (NSF IUSE #1712268 and RCN-UBE #1920270) that focuses on developing resources to improve the pedagogy of biomolecular visualization. In May, she served as a leader for a two-day virtual workshop that helped participants learn PyMOL, a molecular visualization program. In June, she served as a leader of a three-day virtual workshop where participants worked in teams to write and peer-review visualization assessments.

Southern Maryland’s Highly Anticipated River Concert Series Returns for 24th Season
St. Mary’s College of Maryland, along with the Chesapeake Orchestra and its Music Director Jeffrey Silberschlag, are proud to announce the program for the 2022 River Concert Series. A Southern Maryland tradition now in its 24th season, this family-friendly music festival, and winner of two Governor’s Awards for Arts, Tourism, and Community Economic Development, will be held on the St. Mary’s College Townhouse Green. Mainstage programs will be on Friday evenings at 7 p.m. starting on June 24, and continuing on July 1, 8, 15, and 22.
