Billing Information and Due Dates - FA22
Bills for the Fall 2022 semester will be available on the student portal beginning the first week of July and payments and/or payment plans should be set up no later than July 22nd. Student account and billing information can be found on the student portal.
1. Go to https://seahawks.smcm.edu/ics ; enter your username and password and click "Login"
2. Click on the "My Student Account" tab to see the bill.
Payment information
The Business Office accepts payments in the form of credit cards, EFT/wire transfers, and checks. Payments and payment plans can be set up through the "My Student Account" tab on the student portal, for more information, please visit their website. Any questions related to the student account, payments, the payment plan, 529's or prepaid college trust funds, should be directed to the Business Office at studentaccounts@smcm.edu and/or (240) 895-4302/4303/4306.
*There is a $45 enrollment fee for the payment plan. which has to be set up each semester and subsequent installments are due on the 5th of each month.

Financial Aid Information
All students that have successfully completed a 22-23 FAFSA should have financial aid available on the student portal. Students that are eligible for federal student aid are required to take action on loans though the "My Financial Aid" tab. If a FAFSA was filed and there are no loans on the portal to accept, please contact OSFA.
Any merit scholarships, need based grants (SMCM, PELL) or Maryland funds DO NOT have to be accepted on the student portal. However, Maryland funds awarded to students have to be accepted through the MDCAPS portal
Accepting or Rejecting Your Direct Federal Loans - Direct Loan Information
1. Go to https://seahawks.smcm.edu/ics ; enter your username and password and click "Login"
2. Go to "My Financial Aid" tab and review your financial aid awards. Clicking on each award reveals additional information.
3. Next to the loan award, select either "Accept" or "Reject." To reduce a loan amount, type in the box provided the desired amount and then click the "Accept" button.
*Please note: If you accept a reduced award, it will be split evenly over the Fall and Spring session.
4. Click "Submit" and then click "Confirm My Aid"
5. You will receive an email confirmation that will provide you with a summary of your awards and the terms and conditions.
First-Time Student Borrowers
Students that are borrowing federal student loans for the first time at St. Mary's College of Maryland are required to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling which can be found at studentaid.gov.
Parent PLUS Loan - Available to apply June 2022
Please note the Parent PLUS loan application must be submitted each year and will not be visible on the portal until the application has been approved through studentaid.gov.
Parent PLUS loan first-time borrowers are required to complete a PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN).
Private Student/Parent Loans
If you are wanting to explore the option of a private student or parent loan such as SallieMae, Discover, SoFi etc., please visit this list of lenders: ElmSelect.com. If you click on each of the lenders, it will bring you to their website where you can find additional information on them.
