“Checking In,” an original theater piece on the powers of healing during a COVID-19 lockdown, opens with a recorded Zoom performance on Thursday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. Presented by the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Theater, Film and Media Studies, the show performs through Sunday, April 18, with a final matinee performance at 2 p.m.

Visiting Assistant Professor Jensen and collaborators recently published an article titled "Examination of ethnic racial identity exploration and commitment in emerging adults: Group comparisons and specific features of multiracial identity" in Journal of American College Health.

Two works by St. Mary’s College of Maryland art major KD Sexton ’21 were accepted into the Colors of Humanity Art Gallery exhibition on Human Nature.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland Adjunct Professor Susan Langley is the Maryland State Underwater Archaeologist and a member of both the anthropology and new marine science programs. SMCM student McKenna Litynski ’21 (environmental studies) organized the video conference as an Independent Study Course under the supervision of Langley.

This year, the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) is hosting a virtual annual conference and St. Mary’s College is participating at many levels.  Professor of Anthropology Bill Roberts serves on the 2021 Program Committee and took the lead on organizing three sessions involving SMCM faculty, students, and alumni.

On Monday, March 15, St. Mary’s College President Tuajuanda C. Jordan participated on a panel discussion at the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education’s (AABHE) virtual conference.

“An Evening with Janelle James” takes place on Saturday, April 10, beginning at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. James is the 15^th performer for the Annual Twain Lecture Series on American Humor and Culture.
