Assistant Professor of Neurobiology Daniel Tobiansky, PhD (Biology and Neuroscience), was recently accepted to take part in the UC San Diego's  Leading the Advancement of Underrepresented Neuroscientists for Change (LAUNCH) program.

Associate Professor of History Garrey Dennie is an invited panelist on March 24 for a special edition of “A Chat with the OAS,” a virtual, live event organized by the Organization of American States (OAS) as part of the VI Inter-American Week for People of African Descent in the Americas. Established in 2018, the Inter-American Week for People of African Descent in the Americas has as its mission to foster reflection on the socio-economic issues faced by people of African descent as well as to laud their contributions to the development of the Americas.

Students Nicholas Ashenfelter ‘23, Nicollete Iacona '23 and Caroline Taylor '23, alumni Mackenzie Brooks ‘22, Mason Drusano '22, Julia Kochman '23, Gabriel Richards '22, Drew Sonnenberg '22 and Jacinda Thomas '22, Associate Professor of Psychology Jennifer Tickle and Assistant Professor of Psychology Gili Freedman presented research at the Annual Meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association in early-March 2023.

Summer Taylor '23 and Sydney McGurk '23, alumni Kayla Luhn '22 and India Oates ’21 and assistant professor of psychology Kristina Howansky presented research at the 24th Annual Meeting of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) conference in mid-February 2023.

Pam Mertz, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, has been named a 2023 fellow of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). According to the ASBMB website, the honor is given to members “with a history of exceptional and sustained service to the society as well as a distinguished record of professional accomplishment to advance molecular life sciences in the fields of scientific research, diversity and inclusion, education, outreach, mentorship, leadership and/or public service.” This is the third year that ASBMB has named fellows to its society.
