St. Mary’s College Board Sets Tuition and Fees/Approves New Marine Science Major

Today, the Board of Trustees of St. Mary’s College of Maryland announced for the second consecutive year a freeze in tuition and fees for the 2021-2022 academic year. The Board also approved a new marine science major.

Assistant Professor of Psychology Kristina Howansky and collaborators recently published "Identity safety cues predict instructor impressions, belonging, and absences in the psychology classroom" in the journal Teaching of Psychology. This work aimed to explore some of the possible benefits of identity safety cues - signals to let students' know diverse identities are valued in their classroom - in the higher-ed classroom.

Sarah Malena, assistant professor of history, has been published in the volume Scribes and Scribalism (T&T Clark, 2020). Malena’s contribution, “Influential Inscriptions: Resituating Scribal Activity During the Iron I-IIA Transition,” examines the significance of inscriptions in a time of extremely limited literacy and great social and political turmoil in the ancient Levant.
