St. Mary’s College of Maryland, in continued partnership with The Patuxent Partnership (TPP) - a local nonprofit organization that works with government, industry, and academia on initiatives in science and technology - has awarded the inaugural The Patuxent Partnership Physics Scholarship. 

First-year student Caitlin Kubina, of Columbia, Maryland, has been selected to receive a $10,000 scholarship award for the 2021-2022 academic year. 

The St. Mary’s County Public Library is hosting an author talk with St. Mary’s College Professor of History Charles J. Holden, along with Jerald E. Podair, two of the authors of the book “Republican Populist: Spiro Agnew and the Origins of Donald Trump’s America” via Zoom on Wednesday, August 4 from 7-8 p.m.

Assistant Professor of Economics Linden McBride is lead author of the paper “Predicting Poverty and Malnutrition for Targeting, Mapping, Monitoring, and Early Warning” recently published in the journal Applied Economics Perspectives and Policy.

St. Mary’s College Professor of History Christine Adams and sister and co-author Tracy Adams, professor of French literature at the University of Auckland, were interviewed by the French History Podcast on their book, “The Creation of the French Royal Mistress: From Agnès Sorel to Madame DuBarry.” In the book, the two detail the role of the royal French mistress.
