Professor Ugues Serves as Observer in Historic Mexican Election

Antonio Ugues Jr., associate professor of political science and public policy and director of the Center for the Study of Democracy, recently returned from Mexico City where he served as an accredited foreign visitor for the 2023-2024 Mexican electoral process. In this role, Ugues took part in election observation and met with officials from Mexico's electoral authorities, as well as candidates for office and political party representatives.

Four psychology majors presented research to outside audiences in April 2024. Alongside former SMCM Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology Amie Severino ‘11 (now at Mount Saint Mary’s University), Briana Corbin ’24 presented at the Anxiety and Depression Association of America conference in Boston, MA. Taking the LEAD Campaign Surpasses the $20 Million Mark

St. Mary’s College of Maryland has surpassed its $20 million goal—a year ahead of schedule—through the Taking the LEAD comprehensive fundraising campaign. To maintain the campaign’s momentum and maximize the vision and initiatives of outgoing President Tuajuanda C. Jordan, the campaign will now transition to the “How High Can We Fly?” phase for the final year, concluding in June 2025.
