In March 2025, psychology major Nadia Lonnberg ’25 was awarded a $1,471 Psi Chi Undergraduate Research Award to support her St. Mary's Project entitled “Pop Cultural Videos and Their Impact on Multimedia Learning” which is being conducted under the mentorship of Assistant Professor Nayantara Kurpad.

Alum Nicholas Ashenfelter ’23 and Associate Professor of Psychology Kristina Howansky recently published an article (based on Ashenfleter’s St. Mary's Project) entitled “LGBTQ Minus: Predictors of Anti-Asexual Bias Among Straight, Gay, and Bisexual Individuals” in the Psi Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research. Researchers tested for differences in asexual prejudice across belief systems.
