Assistant Professor of Psychology Kristina Howansky recently published a chapter in a new book, The Routledge International Handbook of Gender Beliefs, Stereotype Threat, and Teacher Expectations. This book offers an interdisciplinary collection of chapters summarizing how gender stereotyping and gendered expectations influence students' academic outcomes and provides concrete recommendations for educators on how to create encouraging learning spaces. Howansky's chapter Fostering Inclusivity in Higher Education Through Identity Safety Cues: A Practical Guide, can be found in the "Synergies and Solutions" section of the book.
