William Rose Awardee Mertz Gives Talk at ASBMB Meeting

Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry Pam Mertz delivered her award speech for the William C. Rose Award at the annual meeting of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) held March 7-10 at the Gaylord National Harbor Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Awarded to Mertz last fall by the ASBMB, the William C. Rose Award for Exemplary Contributions to Education recognizes an individual who, at the undergraduate and/or graduate/professional levels, demonstrates an exceptional contribution to the teaching of biochemistry and molecular biology with a demonstrated commitment to student learning and mentorship, pedagogical engagement and teaching innovation. Her recorded speech, "Finding and Building Your Community: Advance Together" can be viewed on YouTube. Mertz also gave two poster presentations during the annual meeting.
