Lee Capristo, director of writing and content in St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Institutional Advancement/Integrated Marketing office, won an Award of Excellence in the 35th Annual APEX Awards for Publication Excellence Competition. The award recognized her writing of the Mulberry Tree magazine feature “Connecting Through History: An Interview with Ramtin Arablouei” in the fall 2022 issue.
"Lee has been an indispensable part of the Institutional Advancement team at St. Mary's College of Maryland for more than 25 years, and has been the creative force behind a plethora of institutional and individual awards," said Carolyn Curry, vice president for institutional advancement. "The feature for which she was recognized by APEX this year is not exceptional but entirely typical of the articles and other content she produces day in and day out."
The APEX awards program recognizes excellence in publishing by professional communicators. The annual competition is open to communicators in corporate, nonprofit and independent settings. The 2023 competition had more than 1,100 entries and 453 awards of excellence. The APEX award is Capristo’s 15th in her career with St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
