Jennifer "Jo" Oliver '99, senior graphic designer in the Office of Integrated Marketing & Communications, recently received recognition in the 62nd American Graphic Design Awards, the end-of-year, flagship awards competition sponsored by Graphic Design USA (GDUSA). Oliver's original design for an SMCM-themed blanket, used as a top-tier "champion" gift for Giving Tuesday 2024, received the award. The blanket design showcased the "Seven Wonders" of SMCM, known to decades of SMCM students and alumni.

"Jo is a phenomenal designer and artist, the best I've worked with in over 25 years of higher education marketing and communications," said Chuck Steenburgh, assistant vice president of integrated marketing & communications. "What is truly special is how she combines her incredible talent with a knowledge of and love for all things SMCM."

Out of more than 6,000 entries, only the top 10% are selected for awards in this nationwide competition. Oliver's work was previously recognized by GDUSA for the admission viewbook, produced in partnership with the Office of Admission.
