St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM) policies are in place to promote a safe and conducive environment for teaching, learning, and living. Together, these collective policies allow all members of our community to uphold the values and mores of SMCM.
A College Policy is an internal administrative directive that:
- has broad application to one or more areas or functions
- extends provisions or sets behavioral expectations
- helps achieve compliance with applicable guidance
- mitigates institutional risk
- is administered by a Responsible Office
- is sponsored and overseen by a Responsible Executive
- is approved by the Board of Trustees
