Tysheena (Ty) Denesca '27, an English major with a minor in French, received an award under the U.S. Department of State’s prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program to support a semester of study abroad. Denesca will spend the spring 2026 semester studying English at University College Dublin in Ireland.

Administered by the Institute of International Education since its inception in 2001, the Gilman Program is a highly competitive, merit-based scholarship intended to provide students with demonstrated financial need the opportunity to acquire skills that are essential to America's national security and economic prosperity.
