Saya Behnam is an Iranian-American artist with more than 20 years of experience in fine art. Her art practice is inspired by nature, the juxtaposition of time and space, birth and death, and sacred or fractal geometry patterns observed in natural forms for the structures of growth, energy, decay, chaos and order. She has a B.S. in biology (botany) from Tehran University, and lives in Virginia.
This talk is presented as part of ENST's "The Climate Affect: A Multisensory Exploration of Resilience." The Climate Affect aims to elevate the role of the arts in climate discourse and foster a cultural movement that heals our connection with each other and the planet. The initiative invites guest artists to campus to integrate into cross-campus programming that engages students with creative projects aimed at building skills, critical thinking, transdisciplinary research, community and collaboration.
