Join the Center for the Study of Democracy and the St. Mary's College Library for a screening and post-film discussion of "The Social Dilemma" on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 8 p.m. in Cole Cinema.
According to the film producers, "this documentary-drama hybrid explores the dangerous human impact of social networking, with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creations."
This program is part of the Media Literacy, Civic Engagement, and Democracy (MLCED) Project. The MLCED Project is a multiyear project to inform and engage the southern Maryland community on the important relationship between the media and American democracy. Our goal is to empower the community with the skills to critically evaluate and analyze information and participate as responsible citizens.
You can find more information on the MLCED Project by visiting the Center for the Study of Democracy's website (https://www.smcm.edu/democracy/) or the SMCM Library (https://libguides.smcm.edu/medialiteracy). Please contact democracy@smcm.edu for additional information.
