Art works by Sue Johnson, professor of art, are in a three-person exhibition “Creative Research Practices” now on view at Stevenson University, Owings Mills, Maryland, from September 20 – November 12, 2021. Johnson shows seven works from “Hall of Portraits from The History of Machines,” with new works not shown previously.

Curated by Lori Rubeling, professor of art and communication design at Stevenson University, “Creative Research Practices: Sue Johnson, Ebony Kenney and Johan Lowie” has an opening reception on Thursday, October 7, 12 - 2 p.m. at the Kevin Manning Academic Center, Stevenson University North Campus.  Johnson presented a gallery talk with discussion for students on September 30.

Johnson’s installation pairs ephemera and object research with finished mixed media paintings. Kenney’s user experience frameworks and field research installation explains the Safe Third Space user experience. Lowrie’s 2016 Aftermath painting series documents his months-long wait for a heart transplant.

Kevin Manning Academic Center location: 2nd floor, 11200 Ted Harget/Gundry Lane, Owings Mills, Maryland. Gallery hours: Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. www.stevenson.edu/arts.
