Emily Casey, assistant professor of art history, has been selected to participate in the Attingham Trust's Royal Collection Studies course in London this fall. The Attinhgam Trust, dedicated to fostering knowledge about the arts and cultural heritage in Britain, offers residential study courses on all aspects of British decorative arts and architecture.
The Royal Collection Studies course focuses on the collections of Britain's monarchies from the sixteenth century through the present. Casey's participation will contribute to her current research on the role of visual culture in propagating and supporting the aims of empire in the early modern Atlantic World. She received a scholarship from the American Friends of Attingham--a US-based organization--to support her participation.
