Come home this summer and write on the river. The 10th Annual Chesapeake Writers’ Conference takes place June 18-24, 2023, and our excellent faculty will help you tell your story as only you can.
In addition to hosting excellent faculty for intensive genre workshops in Poetry, Fiction, and Creative Non-fiction, we’ll again offer a two-credit Continuing Professional Development (CPD) graduate seminar for teachers of English and language arts. Do you know a high-schooler looking for a one-of-a-kind opportunity this summer? Consider bringing or sending a young writer who might benefit from our popular Youth Workshop, which offers a creatively rigorous experience for teens to deepen their writing practice and engage with other writers their age.
New this year: all SMCM alumni are eligible for a 10% discount on tuition, which is transferable and is good for multiple registrations. We are also giving away a St. Mary’s College of Maryland tote bag for the first 25 registrants. These bags are made of repurposed cotton rescued from a factory floor in India.
Check out our website for news and updates, including how to apply and register: go.smcm.edu/chesapeake
You can also email Crystal Oliver, Conference Director, at cdoliver@smcm.edu for more information.
We hope you can return to campus this summer—or recommend the Conference to others, especially if you know a teacher, high-schooler, or writer of any level who would benefit from this excellent experience. Ideally, you can do both.
Join us to see what happens when you immerse yourself again in the words, water, and woods at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
