Intended Audience
The Neuroscience Program welcomes Dr. Kari Johnson (Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences) who will present "Metabotropic glutamate receptor modulation of striatal circuits involved in reinforcement learning" as the third lecture in the 2021-2022 Neuroscience Seminar Series.
The striatum plays critical roles in motivated behaviors and reinforcement learning. This seminar will explore striatal circuits that contribute to reinforcement learning. We will also consider how reinforcement learning can be regulated by G protein-coupled receptors that regulate neurotransmitter release in striatal circuits.
Campus visitors must be up-to-date on vaccinations for COVID-19 and be able to present proof of vaccination upon request by College officials when attending indoor events or large gatherings outside when social distancing cannot be ensured. If campus visitors are not vaccinated or cannot show proof of vaccination, they must present proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival to campus. Face coverings must always be worn indoors.
