Come watch the final grains of sand to be added to the community sand mandala.

Stay around as the Tibetan Monks sweep up the sands of their Mandala Sand Painting.  To fulfill the function of healing, half will be distributed to the audience at this closing ceremony at 5:00 p.m., while the remainder is placed in an urn and is carried to a nearby body of water, where it is deposited. The waters then carry the healing blessing to the ocean, and from there it spreads throughout the world for planetary healing.

We are grateful to our co-sponsors the Lecture and Fine Arts Committee, Student Government Association, the Arts Alliance, and departments of music, philosophy & religious studies, English, art & art history, sociology, history, and international languages and cultures, the Asian Pacific American Club, and Office of the Provost.
