Millions of grains of sand continue to flow onto the community sand mandala.  Help create this beautiful work of art with other students and members of the community.  Watch the Tibetan Buddhist Monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery continue their work on the Mandala Sand Painting.  From all the artistic traditions of Tantric Buddhism, that of painting with colored sand ranks as one of the most unique and exquisite. To date the monks have created mandala sand paintings in more than 100 museums, art centers, and colleges and universities in the United States and Europe.

A public lecture “Tibetan Buddhist Views of Death and Dying” by the Tibetan Buddhist Monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery will follow.

We are grateful to our co-sponsors the Lecture and Fine Arts Committee, Student Government Association, the Arts Alliance, and departments of music, philosophy & religious studies, English, art & art history, sociology, history, and international languages and cultures, the Asian Pacific American Club, and Office of the Provost.
