Currently digital curator of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage in Washington, D.C., Amalia Córdova is a former Latin American specialist for the Film + Video Center of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in New York City. She holds a doctorate in cinema studies and an M.A. in performance studies from New York University, where she joined its Gallatin School of Individualized Study as part-time faculty in 2011 and later served as assistant director of its Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Her undergraduate studies in fine arts and aesthetics were completed at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
