Open Water: An Undergraduate Journal in the Social Sciences
Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honor Society, is currently seeking high-caliber student papers for publication in the 2024-2025 edition of Open Water, the journal of the Political Science & Public Policy department at St. Mary's College of Maryland. This journal aims to provide a non-partisan forum for scholarly works that advance the open discussion of various issues including politics, economics, history, anthropology, and sociology.
Published works will demonstrate contemporary or future relevance to the above-mentioned perspectives. Both research-based analyses and creative projects will be considered for publication. Examples of appropriate submissions include the following: excerpts/chapters from St. Mary’s Projects, papers written for a course, editorials, relevant fiction, and/or creative non-fiction works.
We are also seeking photography submissions related to St. Mary's College for us on the Journal cover.
Guidelines
1. Papers must be related to the social sciences.
2. Papers must have been previously or currently submitted to a professor as part of coursework.
3. Any submitted papers should be approximately 10-20 pages in length, in 12 pt Times New Roman font, and double-spaced.
4. Due to space constraints, not all submitted papers can be published.
