MacCallum Borghardt '24 spent his spring break on a LEAD (Learning through Experiential and Applied Discovery) internship working on an archaeological excavation at the Chiles Homesite within the Douglas Point Special Recreation Management Area. Overseen by Associate Professor Liza Gijanto, the project seeks to develop interpretive materials about the lives of the formerly enslaved that once lived on and worked the land.
