Brian Ganz plays his only full length recital of the semester, a preview of the upcoming finale to his 16-year journey through the complete works of Chopin at the Music Center at Strathmore. The free preview will be held in the Concert Hall of the Dodge Performing Arts Center on April 2 at 7pm. The program will feature some of Chopin's finest late works, such as the great Barcarolle, Op. 60 and the tender Berceuse, Op. 57, as well as his final essays in the nocturne and mazurka genres, Opp. 62 and 63 respectively. Also included on the program will be the Scherzo No. 3, Op. 39 and the youthful Rondo, Op. 73, both works of sparkling virtuosity. Rounding out the program will be little known gems such as the Album Leaf in E major and the short but passionate waltz recently discovered in a New York City library.
