Longing
What it means to reach for the unreachable
Come and experience a night of music, poetry reading, and a lecture. This performance, which will explore what it means to reach for the unreachable and the universality of longing, will take place at 7:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2026 in the Recital Hall, Nancy R. and Norton T. Dodge Performing Arts Center.
The program will feature music composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Morten Lauridsen, and James MacMillan, poetry reading in three languages (English, Spanish, and Japanese), and a lecture that explores the theme.

Longing is the second installment of Sound Immersion, a performance series where music is united with other worlds to explore specific themes.
