Chesapeake Writers’ Conference

SMCM Student Writers – Scholars’ Reading

Thursday, January 29, at 7:30 PM in Upper Monty

Come support your fellow SMCM student writers who served as last summer’s CWC Scholars and learn about what it means to be a Scholar, and how you can apply to be one!

Last year's scholars – including Allison Glaser, Karli Applestein, Isa Bianco, Essie Markov, Meghan Musselman, and Abby Shackleford – will share their experiences and read some of their creative work.

Scholars for the Chesapeake Writers’ Conference are SMCM students and alumni who attend for free and gain valuable work experience in publishing and communications while assisting with preparing and facilitating the conference.

There will be a limited number of full scholarships available (and only for SMCM students).  Scholarships cover tuition, room, and board. In exchange for this funding, scholarship recipients will help make the conference happen. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified applicants at the discretion of the Director. The scholarship has no cash value and is worth the cost of attending the conference (approximately $1500).
