The NIH Summer Internship Program offers a full-time, immersive research experience within the world-renowned Intramural Research Program (IRP) at the National Institutes of Health.
🧬 What You’ll Do
Summer interns join a research group led by a Principal Investigator (PI) at one of the NIH’s Institutes or Centers. Research groups span all NIH campuses, including the main campus in Bethesda, MD.
Interns gain hands-on experience in areas such as:
- Biomedical, behavioral, or social sciences
- Basic, translational, or clinical research
- Fields including biology, engineering, epidemiology, psychology, math, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, nursing, physics, computer science, bioinformatics, and more
