Assistant Professor of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies Diego Villada, Ph.D., served as the fight choreographer for the College of Southern Maryland’s fall production of "Witness for the Prosecution," which opened on Nov. 14, 2025, at the La Plata Campus. Agatha Christie’s iconic courtroom drama—known for its sharp twists, interrogations, and psychological tension—was elevated by Villada’s dynamic approach to staged violence and physical storytelling. Villada designed and directed physical conflict in the production, ensuring that the sequence enhanced character development and heightened the stakes of the unfolding mystery. His choreography balanced dramatic intensity with industry-standard safety practices, guiding the cast through techniques rooted in consent, clarity, and collaborative intention.
