A group of women in silver tops and blue skirts perform a synchronized dance routine indoors, with onlookers seated and standing in the background.

Please join the Asian & Pacific Islander American Club (APAC), the SMCM Asian Studies Program, and the Office of Multicultural Programs (IDEAA) in our campus celebration of Diwali!

The Diwali "Festival of Lights" is a South Asian celebration that involves lighting of lamps, candles, and decorative lanterns to symbolize the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Our SMCM celebration will include decorating clay lamps, henna tattoos, lantern making, and delicious Indian food (samosas & more!). We will also have a special dance performance and mini-workshop by Indian students living in St. Mary's county.

Come join us in bringing light to our community!

Date & Time: Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Place: Daugherty Palmer Commons (the DPC)
