Each year one of St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Public Safety Officers is given the distinct honor of being named Officer of the Year. Public Safety Officers are the College’s law enforcement, handling routine patrols, emergency medical responses and investigations. The officer of the year is recognized here on campus and also among a dozen other law enforcement officers in St. Mary’s County at the annual law enforcement appreciation day ceremony held later this year.
Rather than being nominated solely by their peers, the College would like to offer the whole campus community an opportunity to nominate an officer for this honor.
