The Amərica Dialogue Series from the Center for the Study of Democracy presents a screening of the documentary film El Río followed by a Q&A with the director Juan Carlos Galeano

El Río is a feature-length documentary about the daily lives and stories of Amazonian peoples, which provides insight into indigenous cultures' perspectives and the life of threatened water ecosystems. Juan Carlos Galeano is an Amazonian poet, documentary filmmaker, translator, and essayist who is committed to environmental justice. His documentary films are based on his fieldwork on riverine and forest people's symbolic narratives in the Amazon basin.
