Dr. Saba Fatima is Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Her areas of expertise include Islam and Politics, Feminist Philosophy, Philosophy of Race, and Transnational Feminism. She has worked extensively on Muslim/Muslim-American issues within a framework of feminist & race theory.

Talk Description:  In its reign of war on terror, the United States tortured and abused individuals in its custody for over a decade.  Come and learn about what this lapse in judgement did to our perception of ourselves as Americans. Why is this a feminist concern?  What does an intersectional sense of justice require of us epistemically?
