Pamela Mertz, professor of biochemistry, and Kristin Procko, associate professor of instruction at the University of Texas at Austin, published an article in the August 2023 issue of ASBMB Today, “Ten Years in the Making: How a community of teachers developed a visual literacy repository.” The article describes the process of developing a public repository of assessments for molecular visualization, funded by two grants from the National Science Foundation, and the community that resulted from the project. The article includes quotes from the initial leader of the project, Paul Craig of the Rochester Institute of Technology, and members of BioMolViz workgroups who contributed to the work.
