Biography

Dr. Anqi Liu 刘安琦 is a scholar specializing in modern and contemporary Sinophone and Chinese diasporic literature. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies and serves as a visiting assistant professor of Chinese and Asian Studies at St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM). Her scholarship has predominantly focused on the issues of cultural hybridity, bilingual creativity, and ethnic representation. Her research also extends into digital humanities, with a specific focus on pandemic discourse. Dr. Liu teaches all levels of Chinese, including advanced courses focused on Chinese literature, culture, and cinema. 

She is currently completing her book manuscript that involves a detailed exploration of critical history, politics of ethnicity, diasporic subjectivity, and Chinese femininity.
