St. Mary’s College of Maryland President Tuajuanda C. Jordan has appointed Michael Dunn as assistant vice president of equity and inclusion. He will report directly to the president.

During these challenging times, I appreciate the chance to work with Kelsey Bush, Shana Meyer, and other campus partners to help our community thrive in fulfillment of the St. Mary’s Way,” said Dunn.
Since 2015, Dunn has served as the College’s director of Title IX compliance and training/Title IX coordinator, and will continue to do so while taking on additional duties as assistant vice president of equity and inclusion. In his new role, working closely with the College’s chief diversity officer and vice president for student affairs, he will provide strategic, thoughtful and evidence-based leadership to advance the College toward its goal of nurturing and sustaining a campus climate of inclusive diversity. He will assist in creating and implementing initiatives that attract and retain students who thrive in and respect a diverse learning community, attract and retain diverse staff and faculty, and provide learning opportunities to engage the campus community in challenging and abating injustices. Dunn will oversee Section 504/Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, and work closely with the Office of Human Resources to ensure compliance with Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action laws and regulations.
Fulfilling his role as director of Title IX compliance and training/Title IX coordinator, Dunn will continue to coordinate the College’s compliance with federal and state sex- and gender-based discrimination and sexual misconduct laws and regulations. Under his leadership, the Title IX Office will continue to provide education and training programs regarding Title IX and sexual misconduct prevention, resources, and policies to students, faculty, staff, parents, and other stakeholders. The Title IX Office will respond to, investigate, and seek resolution to Title IX complaints and reports of sexual misconduct, including sexual and gender-based harassment, sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual exploitation.
Dunn received his bachelor’s degree from University of Virginia, his master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University; and his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.
