Provost Katie Gantz attended the 2026 American Association of Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) national conference last week, where she was part of the panel, "Thinking Consortially: An Overview of a Values-Based Collaborative Culture." Along with three other Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC) administrators, Gantz presented case studies of how affiliated institutions have been able to amplify advocacy, pool resources, and share best practices in support of the campus community. SMCM was also represented by President Rhonda Phillips; Associate Vice President for Inclusion and Belonging Rafael Zapata and Associate Deans Randy Larsen, Kelly Neiles and Sahar Shafqat, who all participated in the three-day event.
