St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM), the National Public Honors College, was recognized by Graphic Design USA with the American Inhouse Design Award for the College’s 2025 Admission Viewbook. The lavishly illustrated, 28-page viewbook was a collaborative project of SMCM’s Office of Integrated Marketing & Communications and Office of Admission and was designed by Senior Graphic Designer Jennifer “Jo” Oliver ’99.
“The Institutional Advancement creative team outdid themselves on this project, proposing a complete makeover of the viewbook with a fresh design that puts forward the College’s distinctive strengths and features in a creative, engaging way,” said Chuck Steenburgh, assistant vice president of integrated marketing and communications. “This award recognizes the power of innovation and collaboration, as this project would not have been possible without our close partnership with the Division of Enrollment Management and others across campus.”
2025 marked the 62nd year of the Graphic Design USA awards, the original and foremost celebration of in-house design excellence. From over 5,000 entries, only the top 10% were selected to receive the award.
The accolade adds to more than 50 national and regional awards garnered by the College for its recruitment, development, event management and outreach efforts over the past decade.
