Ain Hinsberg, representative for International Networking and Strategic Partnerships at the University of Tartu, Pärnu in Estonia, visited St. Mary’s College of Maryland on Thursday,  Dec. 7. This is the second time St. Mary’s College has welcomed visitors from Estonia as part of a “sister county” relationship formally established by St. Mary’s County in 2019.

During his visit, Hinsberg met with Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty Katie Gantz and Associate Deans of Faculty Randy Larsen, Kelly Neiles and Sahar Shafqat to explore possible points of engagement between the two institutions. Hinsberg was given a tour of the campus including the College’s new marine science facilities. He was also briefed on the marine science program while having lunch with the College’s marine science faculty. The College also hosted a visit in August 2022 by a delegation from Pärnu as part of the “sister county” relationship.
