Professor of English Christine Wooley led a new workshop, “Leadership Sunday,” during the Association of Departments of English and Association of Language Development (ADE-ALD) Summer Seminar. This year’s seminar was held at Georgetown University June 1-4.
The theme for the Sunday workshop was “Why Lead? Developing a Sense of Purpose—and a Plan—for Leadership in the Humanities and Beyond.” According to the program description, participants discussed—and prepared for—leadership in the humanities in a climate of crisis and scarcity. Additionally, Wooley will co-lead a workshop for new department chairs at the virtual version of the aforementioned workshop during the MAPS Leadership Institute later this month. Wooley is currently serving as the president of the Association of Departments of English.
