On Feb. 25, Interim Dean of Faculty Katie Gantz delivered the keynote address at the annual conference for the Society for the Future of Higher Education. The SFHE is an interdisciplinary advocate and incubator for ideas, strategies, and pedagogies to lead higher education to a more inclusive, just, and equitable future.

This year's virtual SFHE Summit was themed, "Mentoring: the Foundation to your Success." Asked to expand on her summer 2021 article on SMCM's Faculty Mentoring Cohort that appeared in AAC&U's "Liberal Education," Gantz's keynote was titled, "Staying Power in Mentoring: Making it Work, Making it Stick," in which she put forward a framework for building effective, sustainable mentoring programs for post-docs and new faculty.
